I was just wondering if anyone was keeping puffers on here? If so, what are they, what's their set-up, and what are you feeding them?

I have a male/female pair of dwarf puffers in a 38gal (soon to be 60 gal) with a South American puffer (Colomesus asellus) and a multitude of various other fish. There is a ton of snails in the tank, which occupies most of the dwarfs' time, while the asellus doesn't really show any interest, and hence why I've had to do some dentistry on him already. All of the puffers love live Blackworms, along with most of the other fish.

I have a 55gal brackish (SG 1.013) tank with a Green spotted puffer and a Takifugu ocellatus (Peacock Puffer). I plan on upgrading this tank to a 100+ gal tank (if anyone is looking to get rid of one, 48" long). The GSP likes Periwinkle snails from the asian market (can't beat it, $2 per pound), while the ocellatus has no interest in snails. He prefers earthworms, shrimp (live ghost, or cooked cocktail), live blackworms, and occasionally scallops. Haven't had success feeding him mussels. He is super-finicky and his likes and dislikes are frequent, but transient.

I just bought a 125 gallon tank that I'm thinking of putting a Fahaka puffer in, with two Severums, a Black Convict, and a Electric Blue Jack Dempsey (the current residents). However, I've read the Fahakas are obscenely aggressive, but individuals vary. Anyone have one or experience with one?

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Greg
