Hi. I am looking for recommendations on a pressurized CO2 system. I want to replace the Yeast Gen I currently have. Does any one have any experience with these systems, and if so would you recommend one system over another? I am considering the system from aquatic life, as I have had good success with their lighting products, but I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks for you help.

I have heard really good things about these folks, http://www.greenleafaquariums.com/. The guy who owns the company is an active member on theplantedtank.net and aquaticplantcentral.com. He is really good to the community and is always there to answer questions. Rex Grigg is also good http://www.bestaquariumregulator.com/CO2.html. He is sometimes not very personable, but he sells a great product. I have heard mixed results about http://www.aquariumplants.com/CO2_Accessories_s/50.htm regulators, but they have great prices on Aluminum CO2 tanks. Remember that when you refill, they will most likely replace the cylinder if you prefer so you do not have to spend a lot if you can find them used. I got my 20 lb. CO2 tank, a 5 lb. tank, regulator, and pH controller all for $200. It was a lucky find, but they do come up every now and again. There is also a lot for sale on eBay.

If you buy used CO2 tanks, just make sure you find out when they were last tested. Most tests are good for 5-7 years, but if it is beyond that, you will have to replace the seal. The cost is almost as much as a new tank. I take my tanks down to US Airweld on Rio Bravo to get refilled if it is a Saturday (they are open until noon) or Airgas (off Candelaria on Princeton) if it is during the week because they are cheaper and nicer.

I have never purchased or heard of Aquatic Life so I cannot comment on their systems. Hope this helps.
